Just as the people obeyed the sit at home order by the Indigenous
people of Biafra (IPOB) which recieved a total compliace. When I say in totality I mean
lizards, hens and fowls remaining in the hideouts even as the streets and
markets maintained unusual tranquility.
“Until about 10: 30am when we began to hear some noise in the
neighborhood of Onyike Street of PortHarcourt Road ,Aba. We thought it was
Biafrans, since we didn’t hear the sound of gun shots we couldn’t suspect it to
be soldiers.”
Coming out from the house only to behold a young handsome guy
surrounded by other young but heftier in stature numbering five, beating the
later to almost coma not minding the presence of the people in the neighborhood.
Fear gripped everybody because it wasn’t the first time as it has become a routine.
In fact residence in that area always expect such at any time
any day as they don’t have a particular time of operation.
This they continued until they noticed that the boy has lost
strength to resist them before leaving him.
“The victim, Valentine Chukwuemeka by name ,when asked after
regaining strength said he was visiting his parents who live across the rail.
That he only went to the bank to make withdrawal through ATM. On his way back after
buying some recharge cards trying to recharge while walking along the street.
Valentine said he didn’t know he was being followed by the gang until they
approached him and started accusing him of attacking one of their men who was
not there present. Val Chukwuemeka who was attacked with dangerous weapons like
machete, axe and bottles was asked after helping on his, if he knows any one
among them, Valentine said he has never seen or met any one of them in his
life.”
Some parts of Aba in Abia has lost lives, money and other
valuables to this bandits who has come be known as ARO MEN. Their scores stink badly
along and around Ngwa Road, Ogbor-Hill, Obohia and other remote areas in the
town that have been disconnected by bad road network.
From the look of things this will continue for along time if
nothing is done by the State and Federal government on the accessibility of
these places to enable security agencies who are littered everywhere within the
places that are motorable in the commercial city of Aba to operate easily in
those area. If not so, it is only but time the city is in for another osisi
ka nkwu era and who knows who will lead the team this time.
