They are also seeking the protection of lands in various 637 communities in the 27 Local Councils of the of state.
At the Golden Jubilee celebration of the existence of the institute held at the Global City Hotels, Owerri, at the weekend, the State Chairman of the institute, Paulinus U. Onyenawuli, accompanied by his Secretary, Dr. Granvilla Osuji, among others, regretted that the state government was not observing the laws.
He, therefore, urged the government to do that, adding that people
should have habitations and lands in their entities protected with due
process of law.
The Chief Judge of Imo State, Paschal Nnadi, who was accompanied by a
high court judge, Ken Orjiako, Onyenawuli decried non adherence to the
laid down legal procedure, advocating that those who own lands in the
various communities should also be allowed to hold firm of their lands
with all the legal instruments.
